  1. I know you have a poll for what to blog about, but I really want to know is how to make a good looking cover page for my units. I have awesome materials but lack the eye catching backgrounds. How do you make the backgrounds, etc to make a plain word document stand out on tpt?

    1. That's a great question! There are lots of options... I should definitely add this to my poll so I can write a more detailed post. In the meantime, here's one idea:

I love to use the website http://www.pixelscrapper.com/ for backgrounds! It has a lot of free, high-quality backgrounds that you can use for commercial use! To find them easy, go to "Assets" in the top bar, and click "Filter Results." Choose "Commercial Use" under "License," and "Paper" under "Asset Type." Right now there are almost 650 backgrounds for commercial use, and most of them are free!

If you're looking to make an overall TPT item preview, you can put the background behind screen shots of your work with the "How to Create an Easy Picture Collage"
      tutorial.

If you're just looking for the cover page, you can use Picasa to put text over whichever image you pick. You can also use the frames, tags, or shapes under "Type of Embellishment" if you'd like - just add the frame and the background to the Picture Collage, put the paper as the background, and create the collage. Then you can put the text over your completed collage.

Sorry if that was a lot of info and a bit overwhelming... I'm definitely going to add it to my poll so I can walk through it with pictures so I can explain it better! I hope it helps in the meantime!

  4. I discovered your tutorials just last week and I have already used the information on downloading Youtube clips using the Flash Got it All add on . This morning I also downloaded Gimp and can't wait to try it out. Your directions are wonderful; clear, precise and so easy to follow. 5. I just discovered your blog and I am so impressed! You are so talented!! I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on a problem I've been having in power point. I have been trying to use a background and then put a .png frame on top on the background. (Sort of like many of the items for sale on TPT). I know how to layer the objects. Everything looks great on my screen, but when I print, a white box appears around the png border! I also get white boxes around other .png files and sometimes even text. The frustrating thing is that the box only appears when I print. I would love your help! Thank you again for sharing your knowledge!! I'm your newest fan!

    1. Someone else actually contacted me about a similar problem. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure now to fix it, but I'm more than willing to play around with it and figure it out. Would you mind sending me your file (you don't have to send the whole file, just the page that's an issue) so that I can take a look at it? My email is aturntolearn@gmail.com . Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out!
