April Fool's Day Silly CVC Sentences (A No-Prep Game for the Smartboard!)

Typically, the whole concept of April Fool's Day goes right over my Kindergarten students' heads!  People playing tricks on each other basically goes against all of the rules we've been working on.  Anyway... I finally thought of a way to celebrate April Fool's Day with my Kinder kids... with a fun smartboard game!

My students love working on CVC sentences and I figured the addition of pictures to one of their favorite games couldn't hurt!  I'm so excited that this game will work on their decoding and comprehension skills all at once... and I can't wait to see their faces when they read these crazy sentences on April Fool's Day!

Smartboard Games Galore

As I was creating a new smartboard game for my students on Easter Blends, I began filtering through the other Smart Notebook items I have posted on Teachers Pay Teachers and I realized that I haven't blogged about quite a few of them.  I figured that I needed to do them so that I could give them away for free to some of my lovely followers!

First things first, my new game: an Easter Beginning Blends game that focuses on CCVC words.  I can't wait to use this with my students!

Next, I have a few coin recognition games that I made for my kiddos... and of course a bundle with all four games together.  For those of you familiar with my interactive e-books, each Smart Notebook file has an interactive e-book at the beginning to teach your students about the symbols on the coin, then the file has two games to help your children recognize the coins and their values.

Here is the book on pennies:

Dimes Interactive E-Book and Games for Smart Notebook

Quarters Interactive E-Book and Games for Smart Notebook

And of course, the bundle for all four coins:

Next, I have a game I use at the beginning of the year.  I use as an informal way to see who can identify their name, a well as a fun way to introduce graphing!

And now for two more interactive e-books for the smartboard.  I use these as part of my Core Knowledge unit on sculptures.  The first on is on the Statue of Liberty (which is also perfect for a unit on US Symbols):

The next one is on totem poles:

I'm sure I have more Smart Notebook items I could bog about, but I'll have to save that for another day!  I'll email these to the first two people to comment for free... but don't forget to leave me your email address!

Cloud Types Interactive E-Books and Games for Smartboard (Freebie and a Bundle!)

I have been working on updating these books for quite sometime before I posted them... and I'm finally done!

First things first, let me start with the freebie:  the Introduction to Clouds E-Book.  This Smart Notebook file introduces the three main cloud types (cirrus, cumulus, and stratus) and has some really fun interactive components in it!  I used this book at the beginning of my unit and the students LOVED it!

Next, I did the interactive e-book on Cirrus Clouds with my class:

Then, I moved onto the book for cumulus clouds:

After that, I taught the students about stratus clouds:

Then I moved onto cumulonimbus clouds (which is quite possible their favorite!)

Each of those pictures links you to the book on TPT.  You'll save 20% if you buy the bundle!

For all of my loyal followers: I'll email this file to the first two people to comment for free!

Last Minute St. Patrick's Day Activities! (Freebie and a No Prep Game!)

Oh my goodness... tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day!  I love to see the look on my students faces when the leprechaun visits my room.  Check out the freebie below for some editable clues to have him visit your room!

Tomorrow will be a crazy day with all of the excitement of the leprechaun visit (and a field trip on top of it!  Ahh!)... so I need something that I can grab and go without any work.  This game for the smartboard will have your students practice CVC words and reading sentences all in one!  They're sure to love the creative pen and the animation.

For all of my lovely followers, I'll send this game to the first two people to comment for free!  Enjoy!

How to Search on Any Blog or Website

I have to admit, I felt so guilty adding this option to the Technology Tuesday poll because it's so easy to do.  When you see how simple it is, you're literally going to kick yourself!  I promise you, this entire tutorial will take you less than a minute!

Here is the poll:

And the easy, breezy tutorial!

You can download this tutorial as a PDF by clicking this picture!
Note: This tutorial is hosted on Google Drive.  To save it from there, just open the file and click File > Download to save onto your computer!

For next week, I'll add an option that no one has technically requested yet, but one that has made my life SO much easier that I need to share it... how to organize all of your professional development documents digitally!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! Dr. Seuss Interactive E-Book for Smartboard!

My students are loving reading books together on the smartboard.  The questions throughout the book help them work on their comprehension, and I can work on test prep skill by always going back and finding the answers in the text.  Plus... anything that moves around and makes noise is sure to keep them interested!

This interactive e-book for Smart Notebook can help to easily incorporate non-fiction text into your Read Across America Celebration!

Be one of the first two people to comment and I'll send this to you for free!
